USA: Where to go in June

Marth's Vineyard in June

Here are some of our favourite destinations to visit in the USA in June.

Pacific Northwest in june

There is no denying that the Pacific Northwest is delightful all year round, but there is something about June when the region comes alive with beautiful flora and fauna. The perpetually stunning Columbia River Gorge in Oregon is enhanced by a covering of wildflowers throughout spring, a real treat for those who flock to the area to engage in outdoor pursuits. Whilst Washington State’s Olympic National Park is primed for hikers to trek through its verdant rainforests in pleasant conditions. With the weather warming up in June, Portland’s festival season gets into full swing with the Portland Rose Festival, a celebration of the city, boasting parades, dragon boat races, art shows, and much more.

Alaska in june

There are endless reasons to visit Alaska in June. Alaskans emerge from a cold and dark winter into the land of the midnight sun. The sun can shine for up to 24 hours from the end of April to mid-August (depending on where in Alaska you are), bringing a new energy across most of the State. Plan your holiday to be in Fairbanks during the summer solstice, either June 20th or 21st, for some very memorable celebrations. With spring well underway, the salmon have started running and bears are foraging, fishing and playing in the water again. Book a bear viewing tour at Katmai or Lake Clark to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures. Meanwhile, if you take an Expedition Cruise, you have a good chance of spotting humpback whales, bald eagles and coastal brown bears. Quintessential Alaskan activities such as kayaking, dog sledding, flightseeing tours, and glacier walks are all back open after winter and available to enjoy during your trip.

Cape Cod, New England in june

June is the perfect month to visit Cape Cod, before the crowds descend and temperatures soar in July and August. The weather is pleasant, with an average high of 22° and low of 14°, and businesses are open in anticipation of summer visitors. Cape Cod boasts almost 600 miles of picturesque coastline making it the perfect destination for those looking to relax on sandy shores, stroll along a walking trail or dine on delicious lobster rolls. There is no end to the activities that you can enjoy from exploring the charming islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket to a wildlife watching tour to see whales, dolphins, and sea birds.
