Rebecca holds a degree in Marketing Management and brings over a decade of experience in the travel industry. Before joining Journeyscape as Marketing Manager, she spent five years working for a theme park company based in Orlando, Florida, where she developed a deep understanding of destination marketing and visitor experiences.
An avid traveller with an ever-growing bucket list, Rebecca first visited North America on a family holiday as a child and has returned many times since, drawn by the region’s diverse cultures, cuisines and attractions. She has a particular love for California’s laid-back lifestyle and fond memories of her Pacific Coast Highway road trip — from dancing in the desert at Coachella to hiking through Yosemite National Park and wine tasting in Sonoma.
What is your favourite...?
PLACE
Utah is my favourite place to travel, offering an incredible variety of experiences that always feel truly unique. I loved wading through the Narrows in Zion National Park, surrounded by towering canyon walls, taking in the otherworldly landscapes of Bryce Canyon, and embracing the peace and stillness of Capitol Reef. From unforgettable national parks to iconic road trips and those quiet moments of connection with nature, Utah consistently delivers experiences that simply can’t be found anywhere else.
HOTEL
One of my favourite stays is the Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas — a place I love for its friendly, informal atmosphere and authentic Texan charm. The ranch is known for its excellent food, offering a true taste of Texas, alongside lively entertainment and a wide range of included activities. Horse riding is a particular highlight for me, from gentle rides through the surrounding countryside to the unforgettable experience of riding to breakfast each morning — moments that perfectly capture the ranch’s warm and welcoming spirit.
EXPERIENCE
Riding the Rocky Mountaineer train through the breath-taking landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia was one of the best experiences of my life. The panoramic windows and outdoor viewing platform in GoldLeaf ensured that we could see all the stunning scenery and wildlife of the Canadian Rockies in crystal clear detail. The only thing that could tear us away from such incredible sights was the delicious three-course meal served to us in the dining room.
What are your destination highlights?
GLACIER BAY
I will never forget the moment that our boat sailed along the Inside Passage and into Glacier Bay. To be completely surrounded by ice was a surreal and very humbling experience. Although we were told that the glaciers were miles away, it felt like we could reach out and touch them. This area is home to some incredible wildlife as well – we spotted orcas, sea lions, and otters, as well as lots of birds. Make sure you have a good pair of binoculars with you for this trip because you don’t want to miss a thing.
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
It was easy to while away the hours exploring this picturesque outdoor playground. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find something that blows you away, from the easily recognisable El Capitan which can often be seen with brave climbers clinging to its rock face to the hundreds of waterfalls that cascade down the cliffs and peaks. We spent our time here wandering through the forests, enjoying the peace and tranquility, and feeling very fortunate to be surrounded by such incredible natural beauty.
ICEFIELDS PARKWAY
The Icefields Parkway is hailed as one of the most stunning roads in the world, but it’s not until you’ve started driving along it that you realise how unbelievably spectacular it really is. As our car wound its way through snow-capped mountains towards Jasper, the excitement grew. Every stop along the way revealed something more incredible than the last, including gazing across the turquoise-hues of Lake Louise and walking across Athabasca Glacier.
What are you top travel tips?
Build in breathing room
While it can be tempting to plan activities for every single day, you’ll thank yourself for leaving a little space in your itinerary. Adding a few slower-paced or rest days means you can enjoy a lie-in, explore at your own pace, or simply recharge—often leading to more memorable moments than rushing from one attraction to the next.
Track your luggage for peace of mind
Ever since travelling with someone whose luggage went missing, I’ve made it a habit to pop an Apple AirTag into my checked suitcase. It won’t stop your bag from going astray, but it does offer valuable peace of mind. If the worst does happen, you can see exactly where your luggage is and take steps to recover it as quickly as possible.
