Take the train into the province of Quebec and explore Montreal, famous for its churches and French-Canadian cuisine. Visit the city’s museums and botanical gardens, then take a scenic St Lawrence River cruise. Enjoy the grandeur of Quebec City, the only walled city in North America and explore the French-Canadian heritage of its cobblestone streets, murals and bistros.

Your final rail journey brings you to the maritime province of New Brunswick. Enjoy the waterfront promenade of Bathurst, then drive to the wineries of Moncton before exploring the wonders of the Bay of Fundy, famous for the highest tides in the world. Kayak past dramatic sea stacks, walk on the ocean floor and enjoy an unforgettable whale-watching tour.

Take the ferry across to Nova Scotia and drive across the island, exploring either the historic sites and wineries of Annapolis Valley or the rugged scenery of Kejimkujik National Park en route to Halifax.

Our expert's opinion

“The Bay of Fundy is incredible and the contrast between walking on the seabed at low tide and watching whales breach out of the water a few hours later is unforgettable. ”
