Virginia Beach FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Virginia Beach.

When is the best time to visit Virginia Beach?

The best time to go to Virginia Beach is between mid-May and September when the weather is at its best and the city is in full swing. Daytime highs will range from 24°C to 31°C ensuring balmy holiday weather, perfect for a dip in the ocean.

For milder weather with fewer crowds, opt to visit Virginia Beach during the spring or autumn. The months of April and October are still warm enough to enjoy most beach and outdoor activities with temperatures ranging from highs of 22°C to lows of 11°C.

Winter is the worst time to visit Virginia Beach as its location isn’t southernly enough to keep warm in the winter. The months of November to March are cool so expect highs only between 9°C and 16°C. With the exception of horse riding along the beach, the only activities to take part in this time of year are indoors.
