Situated at the confluence of the Colorado River and the Gunnison River, Grand Junction is the only place in Colorado where one can experience the intersection of the state’s renowned ecosystems: mountains, canyons, rivers, high desert, forests and lakes. It is also known as the hub of Colorado’s wine country.

Offering endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, Grand Junction is home to what locals refer to as ‘Nature’s Trifecta’: the Colorado National Monument, which is considered the mini Grand Canyon and one of the most popular rock climbing spots in the USA; the Grand Mesa, which is the largest flat-top mountain in the world bursting with over 300 lakes; and Rattlesnake Arches, which boasts the second-largest concentration of arches in the world, all within one mile of each other. Grand Junction is also home to the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park which offers exceptional views and access to lakes, walking paths, biking trails and native wildlife. 24 miles of paved hiking and biking paths can also be found along the junction of the rivers.

The city itself offers a cosy, small town feel with the luxuries of a big city. The vibrant downtown area is walkable and visitors will find they can balance their outdoor pursuits with a wine tasting at one of the local vineyards, or a trip to the fascinating Museum of the West which displays prehistoric pottery and 19th century artefacts from when the town was first established.
