Located 96km south of Denver, in the Pikes Peak region where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs is a vibrant, modern city surrounded by breath-taking scenery and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure.

Pikes Peak, known as America’s Mountain, dominates the skyline and is the second most-visited mountain in the world after Mount Fuji in Japan. The historic Pikes Peak Cog Railway climbs the 14,114 ft. summit daily and visitors would be remiss to miss out on this unique train ride through the scenic mountainside.

Just minutes outside of the city, visitors will find outstanding hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding foothills and mountains across the towering red sandstone rock formations in the stunning Garden of the Gods Park, as well as beautiful hiking paths up The Broadmoor Seven Falls and along Florissant Fossil Bed National Monument, home to fossils and petrified redwoods.

Other worthwhile sights include the Royal Gorge Bridge, the highest suspension bridge in North America, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is set against a beautiful mountain setting. Visitors to Colorado Springs can also explore historic gold mines, many of which are still working today – Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine and Mollie Kathleen Mine are great choices.

When it comes to downtime visitors will equally be spoiled for choice. Colorado Springs has a delightfully diverse dining scene and wonderful local boutiques for perusing. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has also designated Colorado Springs as one of its Dozen Distinctive Destinations for its walkable historic areas so you won’t have to rely on a car to get around.
