The lesser known cousin of the awe-inspiring geological formation known as “The Wave”, the White Wave or Nautilus as it is also frequently called, is a beautiful series of rock formations with sweeping lines and curves that create the sensation of an actual wave a short distance from Kanab, and unlike its more famous cousin, it doesn’t require a permit to visit. Offering a 2-3 hour highly-enjoyable hiking experience, the White Wave has something for everyone, regardless of whether you are a nature lover. You’ll get sweeping views of the landscape, amazing white rock formations that make for great photography, and millennia-old geology and botany to learn about.
