This National Historic Landmark, a member of the Historic Hotels of America, is set on a 26-acre estate, just a five minute drive from Natchez city centre. The inn offers luxury lodging in a range of rooms and suites, each individually decorated with antique and period piece furniture. They come complete with private baths, some with a spa tub and a fireplace.

For the history buffs, there’s an opportunity for a tour of the Antebellum Mansion, ending up at the inn’s signature restaurant, 1818, that boasts a delicious a la carte menu and cocktail hour.

Wander between the outbuildings to admire the property’s beautiful gardens, with blooming magnolias, roses, azaleas and angel statuary. In the afternoons, enjoy mint juleps or a cocktail in the Quitman Study or Lounge, or relax on the veranda overlooking the pond.
