Bespoke Saskatchewan Holidays

Known as the ‘land of the living skies’ for its ever-changing cloud formations, Saskatchewan is a less visited province of prairies, lakes and proud First Nations communities.

Explore a quieter side of Canada with a tailor-made Saskatchewan holiday from Journeyscape. This is a province defined by space – wide skies, open landscapes, and a pace of life that feels refreshingly unhurried.

Saskatchewan isn’t about big-ticket attractions. It’s about how it feels to be there. The horizon seems endless, the skies are some of the clearest you’ll see, and the landscape shifts as you move through prairies, lakes, and small communities.

For some travellers, that simplicity is exactly the appeal. It’s a chance to step away from busy itineraries and experience somewhere that doesn’t try too hard. Days can be spent exploring national parks, driving between towns, or just taking the time to enjoy the stillness.

Journeyscape creates tailor-made holidays that lean into this slower rhythm. Whether Saskatchewan is part of a wider Canada holiday or a destination in its own right, we’ll help you experience it in a way that feels easy and genuine.

Providing Canada with much of its grains and pulses, this sparsely populated agricultural province has a strong indigenous heritage, taking its name from the Cree language meaning “swift-flowing river”. Saskatchewan also has several Dark Sky Preserves and is a good place to see the Northern Lights on your tailor-made holiday, as well as observing migrating birds.

The capital Regina has colonial architecture, the large urban park Wascana, and some interesting museums, including the world’s largest T-Rex skeleton, making it a great stop on your Saskatchewan holiday.

Visitors to nearby Moose Jaw are greeted by the huge sculpture of Mac the Moose, and can explore the town’s Prohibition mobster history in the Tunnels of Moose Jaw.

The largest city Saskatoon has a strong First Nations heritage, best experienced at Wanaskewin Heritage Park, celebrating 6,000 years of indigenous history with guided hikes, food, art and dance.

The vast Prince Albert National Park is one of the most visited in Canada and has spectacular scenery of prairies, lakes and coniferous forest, populated by bison, bears, elk and deer, with excellent hiking on trails and kayaking on Waskesiu Lake.

Near the US border, Grasslands National Park is one of the few remaining areas of undisturbed dry prairie grasslands in Canada with bison, antelope, prairie dogs, coyotes and owls, and sweeping views over the nearby Badlands.

On the border with Alberta, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park has beautiful forested hills and prairies, ideal for hiking and wildlife watching, and the thought-provoking historic site of Fort Walsh.
