Quebec’s cities have an extraordinary range of festivals. In winter, Montreal hosts a Snow Festival (January-February) and Montreal en Lumière, a light show (February-March), while Quebec City hosts the world’s biggest winter carnival in February.

Summer is the busiest time for events in Quebec. Montreal has several big music festivals as well as a circus festival and fireworks festival in July. Quebec City has a summer music festival, a balloon festival and beer festival. Other summer highlights around the province include Le Festif de Baie-Saint-Paul (music and circus arts festival) in the birthplace of the famous Cirque du Soleil, and First Nations Great Summer Gathering in Mashteuiatsh beside Lake Saint Jean.

Autumn brings a range of food festivals such as Le Grande Gourmandaise in Mont Tremblant, Les Delices d’automne in Mauricie and Charlevoix Apple Festival.
