BC Wildlife Conservation Park Kamloops
Established in Kamloops in 1965 as an animal conservation site, the BC Conservation Wildlife Park is home to nearly 200 animals and 65 different species native to British Columbia, including cougars, bears, wolves, reptiles, birds of prey and the only Kermode bear in human care in the world, Clover.
The majority of the animals living in the Park have been rescued or were orphaned and unable to survive on their own in the wild—while the Park’s adjacent Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre accepts and rehabilitates over 600 animals annually back into the wild.
The BC Wildlife Park is an accredited facility of Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA), and a visit here can encompass a range of activities from animal encounters and feed talks to Bird of Prey flight demonstrations or full guided tours. Less able visitors can take the Wildlife Express train around the park to see the animals’ different habitats, while visitors with children will want to stop at the on-site playground and seasonal splash park during or after their visit.
