Step into the past at the Rough Riders Hotel. Named after the volunteer cavalry unit led by America’s 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, this hotel combines Western charm with presidential history, featuring an impressive hearth, a tin-tiled ceiling and a massive library of books written on and written by Roosevelt. Each room, designed in the style of the Old West, also offers a touch of luxury, with modern amenities and walk-in showers.

Here, you’ll find multiple outdoor swimming pools with views of the Badlands, as well as original furnishings and artifacts from the 1880s. Take a guided historic walking tour to learn more about the local area or make use of the shuttle service to and from the ever-popular Medora Musical.
