Standing tall among Yellowstone’s legendary geysers and steaming hot springs, the Old Faithful Inn stands as both a historic landmark and a gateway to the park’s extraordinary natural wonders. Completed in 1904 using locally sourced logs and rugged volcanic stone, the inn is considered one of the world’s largest and most impressive log structures. Its architecture reflects the early vision of national park rustic design, warm, welcoming, and seamlessly blended with the wilderness that surrounds it. Inside, guests will find a range of charmingly rustic rooms and suites, some offering partial views of the geyser basin and the ever-present plume of Old Faithful itself.

The inn’s interior is just as memorable as its setting. Step into the towering lobby, and you’ll be greeted by the immense 85-foot-high, seven-story log atrium, a masterpiece of hand-crafted woodwork. At its heart crackles a massive stone fireplace built from rhyolite, its hearth a gathering place for travelers from around the world. Above it hangs one of the inn’s most unique treasures: a copper and wood clock created by skilled artisans in the early 20th century, still keeping time more than a century later.

Staying at the Old Faithful Inn places you in the perfect position to experience Yellowstone’s geology, wildlife, and historic charm. Just a short walk from the front door, the world-famous Old Faithful geyser erupts with remarkable consistency, approximately every 90 minutes, sending steaming water skyward in a spectacle that never grows old. For those looking to explore even more, a network of nearby trails and boardwalks winds through bubbling hot springs, colorful mineral pools, and quiet stretches of forest alive with bison, elk, and other wildlife.

Whether you’re relaxing on the balcony as the geyser erupts, wandering through the lodge’s labyrinth of handcrafted details, or stepping out to explore one of the most geologically active areas on Earth, the Old Faithful Inn offers a timeless and unforgettable Yellowstone experience.
