Journey Behind the Falls offers a unique view of amazing Niagara from below and behind the Falls.

Experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s freshwater crashing down to the basin below from a unique perspective behind Niagara Falls.

Elevators descend 125 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead to the cave-like Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal behind the Horseshoe Falls. Then walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls where you’ll see, hear and feel the power of the water.

Journey Behind the Falls dates back to 1832 when the first staircase was constructed into the Niagara Gorge, and the history is celebrated and showcased in a walk-through exhibition.
