Bespoke Plymouth Holidays 2026 & 2027

Learn where it all began for colonial America in Plymouth, a town steeped in the history of the Mayflower pilgrims.

View Holidays

Known as “America’s hometown”, Plymouth is one of the country’s most historic towns – the site where the Mayflower pilgrims landed in 1620 and held the original Thanksgiving feast the following year – and a great addition to your New England holiday itinerary.

The best place to explore the region’s history is Pilgrim Memorial State Park on the waterfront. Visit the full-size replica ship Mayflower II and the monument at Plymouth Rock commemorating the landing. Other historical highlights in Plymouth include the 25-metre granite National Monument to the Forefathers, and Pilgrim Hall Museum, the oldest continuously operating museum in the USA, documenting the story of the pilgrims and native Wampanoag people.

At the south end of town, Plimouth Patuxet Museums are fascinating recreations of a 17th century English village, a Wampanoag settlement and the reconstructed Plimoth Grist Mill.

Plymouth is famous for its seafood restaurants so trying delicacies such as lobster rolls and stuffed clams is a must. The region also produces a huge amount of cranberries and harvest season, peaking in October, is a great time for tours of bright red cranberry bogs before sampling a range of sweet specialities.
