Trip suitability
A Hawai‘i cruise is an unforgettable adventure, but it’s worth knowing that the Pacific waters around the islands can become choppy due to shifting winds and ocean currents. If you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend bringing along your preferred motion‑sickness medication for extra peace of mind. Rest assured, the captain will provide timely updates whenever increased motion is expected so you can prepare and stay comfortable throughout your journey.
Guides
We carefully select our local partners. Their guides understand the expectations of our clients very well and are consistently singled out for praise by clients on their return.
As well as any included activities, this Private Journey includes some free time for optional excursions. As optional excursions are often subject to availability, we recommend you discuss and arrange them with your Travel Expert as early as possible before you depart.
Clothing & special equipment
When preparing for your cruise, be sure to pack a comfortable mix of layers to suit the changing island climate—think sweaters for breezy evenings on deck, lightweight long‑sleeve shirts, casual tees, hiking pants, and a bathing suit for time in the water. A light rain or wind jacket, fleece, hooded pullover, and sun‑protective hat or rash guard will keep you covered in shifting conditions. To make life on board easier, consider bringing a dry bag for essentials, collapsible luggage to maximise cabin space, and a daypack for hikes and skiff rides. Sturdy walking shoes, water shoes or sandals, comfortable deck shoes, and plenty of socks ensure you’re ready for any activity. Optional extras like travel binoculars, a camera with spare batteries, paddling gloves, a reusable water bottle, sunglasses, SPF lip protection, insect repellent, or even your own wetsuit can enhance your experience—though the most important thing to bring is your adventurous spirit.
