Maui Coast Hotel
A full-service hotel in Kīhei, Maui Coast Hotel combines spacious rooms and lively resort amenities with a strong sense of local place – and a beach right across the street.
A well-established Kīhei property, Maui Coast Hotel is a locally owned hotel that reflects Hawaiian cultural values through eco-stewardship, authentic atmosphere and long-standing island hospitality. Many members of staff have worked here since the hotel first opened, proudly sharing the property’s enduring aloha spirit and helping create the relaxed Kihei ambience of sun, sea, palms and open-air island living.
Set directly across from Kamaole Beach Park I, the hotel places guests within easy reach of South Maui’s golden shoreline while offering a comprehensive range of facilities that make it easy to either stay close to the hotel or venture further afield.
Spread across two towers — the original Hoku and the newer Kai, added in 2022 — the rooms are notably spacious, clean and designed for comfort. Interiors are contemporary and unfussy, with private patios, soft neutral tones and layouts that make the most of Maui’s abundant natural light.
Facilities include two outdoor pools, three hot tubs, a fitness centre, pickleball courts, and two on-site dining options: Kihei Caffe, a locally loved diner open for breakfast and dinner, and the Hanohano Pool Bar, which keeps things lively with nightly live music. A complimentary shuttle circles Kīhei and Wailea, and free bikes are available for those who prefer to explore under their own steam.
The hotel is also notable for its cultural programming. Activities such as lei-making, ukulele lessons and hula demonstrations offer guests accessible and engaging introductions to Hawaiian traditions, reflecting the property’s commitment to sharing local culture. It’s a hotel that encourages exploration of Maui while also celebrating the everyday rhythm of island life.
