Maui FAQ
Find out all you need to know about visiting Maui.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
Like the rest of the state of Hawai’i, Maui is a year-round destination that boasts warm, sunny weather no matter the time of year. However, the best time of the year to visit Maui is definitely during the spring and autumn months when the weather is pleasantly warm – not hot and humid – and local festivals of both local and national interest are in full swing. Whale watching season last from late November to early April and whales can often be seen from the beach on Maui’s south shore near Kihei and Wailea.
December and January are the island’s busiest months when visitors from the continental United States are looking for a warm winter escape, and the summer months are equally crowded with local kids and families on summer break.
What is the time difference between the UK and Maui?
GMT – 10 hours. Daylight savings time is not observed.
What places combine well with Maui?
Maui is home to a regional airport that offers direct flights to the state capital, Honolulu, Kaua’i and the island of Hawai’i, as well as multiple cities on the West Coast of the United States including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland. This makes it an easy island to visit should you be looking to experience a variety of locations during your time in the USA.
