Kaua’i FAQ
Find out all you need to know about visiting Kaua’i.
When is the best time to visit Kaua’i?
Kaua’i, like the rest of the islands in the state of Hawai’i, is renowned for its warm, sunny weather, but the best months to visit are between April and October, despite the island being a year-round destination.
Kaua’i tends to be wetter than the other islands – which is why it is the most green and lush – and that means that from November to March the north part of Kaua’i receives regular rainfall. While this can affect one’s beach-going activities, heading to the south part of the island during these months does guarantee some warm Hawaiian sun.
As with most of the state, December and January are peak tourist season in Kaua’i and best avoided.
What is the time difference between the UK and Kaua’i?
GMT – 10 hours. Daylight savings time is not observed.
What places combine well with Kaua’i?
Kaua’i has a small regional airport meaning that flying in and out of the island always requires a stopover – usually in Maui or Honolulu. A number of major cities on the West Coast of the United States fly to Kaua’i, and one can easily island-hop from Kaua’i as well.
What are the main cultural events in Kaua’i?
March – Prince Kūhiō Festival
July – Kōloa Plantation Days
