Honolulu FAQ

Find out all you need to know about visiting Honolulu.

When is the best time to visit Honolulu?

Honolulu is a year-round destination that boasts warm, sunny weather no matter the time of year. That said, the best time to visit Honolulu is during the spring and autumn months when the weather is pleasantly warm – not hot and humid – and local festivals of both local and national interest are in full swing.

December and January are the island’s busiest months with visitors looking for a warm winter escape on Waikīkī Beach, and the summer months are equally popular with local families on summer break.

What is the time difference between the UK and Honolulu?

GMT – 10 hours. Daylight savings time is not observed.

What places combine well with Honolulu?

Honolulu is home to Hawai’i’s only international airport, making it the gateway to the Hawaiian Islands. Flights from the continental United States fly directly into Honolulu, and flights from abroad do too. Honolulu International Airport is also the main hub to connect visitors to the other islands. Inter-island flights to Maui, Kaua’i, Lana’i, Moloka’i and the island of Hawai’i range from 30 to 50 minutes by commercial airline.
