Built in 1912, before Carlsbad officially became a city, this country-style property has been thoughtfully transformed into an intimate inn while preserving its vintage character and welcoming atmosphere. Its musical heritage is reflected throughout the property, with rooms named after popular fiddle tunes and uniquely styled with eclectic antiques and period-inspired décor.

Rooms and suites are individually decorated, offering a mix of historic charm and contemporary comforts. Depending on the room, amenities include plush king or queen beds, fireplaces, spacious bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, coffee makers, mini-fridges, microwaves and luxurious Turkish bathrobes. Some of the larger suites feature kitchenettes, separate sitting areas or private cottage-style accommodations, while the two-bedroom Orange Blossom suite offers additional space for families or groups.

Outside, Fiddler’s Inn offers a peaceful garden courtyard with seating and a barbecue grill, as well as an outdoor hot tub that is open year-round – an inviting place to unwind after exploring the area’s natural attractions. Guests also receive complimentary coffee, bottled water and cookies in their rooms, along with access to discounts at local restaurants. Breakfast is included with every stay: from Monday through Saturday, guests can enjoy a bite at the nearby Blue House Bakery & Cafe, while on Sundays, a continental breakfast is served in the privacy of your room.

Centrally located on North Canyon Street, the inn makes a comfortable base for discovering Carlsbad and the surrounding natural wonders, including Carlsbad Caverns National Park. With its intimate setting, historic character and personal approach to hospitality, Fiddler’s Inn offers a distinctive alternative to a conventional hotel stay.

Our expert's opinion

“The Fiddler’s Inn offered a welcoming ambiance and comfortable, cosy rooms. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the hot tub was very welcome after a day out exploring. Would happily stay here again!”
