When is the best time to visit Nantahala Forest?

The best time to go to Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina is between the months of April and October when the weather is generally warm and pleasant for outdoor exploration. Daytime highs will range from 18C to 26C throughout this period, and the spring and autumn months will be particularly pretty with their blossoming wildflowers and autumn foliage. Winter is not recommended for travel as the forest’s varying elevations cause the weather to be cold and unpredictable between November and March.
