When is the best time to visit Newfoundland?

The best time to visit Newfoundland & Labrador is May to September, coinciding with the whale-watching season, while iceberg viewing is May to July, usually peaking in late May and early June. The summer months (June-August) are warmest time to visit with the most sunshine and the busiest events schedule. Autumn (September-October) can be an attractive time to visit with the Fall colours. Winter is low season and can be very cold in northern Newfoundland and Labrador, but milder in the south and St John’s.
