Timber Cove

With a dramatic setting on a bluff above California's windswept Sonoma coast, this hotel commands stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding forest.

Originally built in the 1960’s, Timber Cove blends rustic hippy roots with modern comforts, designed with earthy colours of redwood and stone. Stay in splendid isolation in this rugged retreat, wake up to the sound of crashing waves and admire the sight of the adjacent 93-foot Bufano Peace Statue Monument.

Guest rooms are furnished with modern and retro pieces, including Crosley LP record players, custom coffee-makers, luxurious linens and towels, yoga mats and most have fireplaces. Rooms have either forest or ocean views, while suites have fridges, large soaking tubs and living rooms.

The resort has a lounge, bar, outdoor space with games and fire pits, a fitness room and WiFi. The ocean-view restaurant, Coast Kitchen, serves seasonal dishes sourced locally with wine pairings from Sonoma vineyards. Coffee, pastries and cookies are included for guests, as well as regular wine-tastings.

The resort has over two miles of hiking trails and picnic spots. The hotel is convenient for wine-tasting in Sonoma County and day trips to nearby towns such as Fort Ross, Bodega Bay and Sea Ranch.
