The Italian-inspired Lodge at Sonoma has a tranquil rural setting with a swimming pool and spa, just a mile from  Sonoma Plaza.

This idyllic resort features a fitness centre and outdoor heated pool with cabanas, hot tub and poolside bar in a converted horse trailer. The gorgeous spa offers soaking pools and treatments including body scrubs, facials and massages, while the barrel sauna is a particular highlight.

Accommodation is available in the lodge and in more secluded cottages tucked away in the gardens. Lodge rooms feature plush bedding with pillow-top mattresses and designer duvets, air-con, TVs, coffee-makers, fridges and WiFi, while upgraded rooms and cottages add fireplaces, living rooms, patios or balconies.

Dining options include a Mediterranean bistro, and the resort also offers wine tastings and complimentary shuttle service downtown.
