Owned by the Klahoose First Nation, this sustainable off-grid resort is set in the heart of Desolation Sound in temperate rainforest on the Homfray Channel between the Salish Sea and the Coastal Mountains.

The lodge offers expert bear-watching excursions led by indigenous guides. In spring, boat tours to Toba Inlet offer unforgettable chances to watch both black bears and grizzlies as they emerge from hibernation to feed on vegetation. In late summer and autumn, the salmon run offers an even more intimate experience from viewing platforms in rainforest inland from Toba Inlet. Whales, sea lions and orcas are also commonly seen on boat trips.

Only accessible by boat or seaplane, guest numbers at Klahoose Wilderness Resort are strictly limited to a handful of lodge rooms and larger cabins. Klahoose Wilderness Resort offers an intimate, personal experience. Lodge Rooms sleep 1 to 4 guests and some have balconies, while larger cabins are more secluded for up to 5 guests with lofts, lounge areas and large private balconies. All accommodation has private bathrooms.

The tranquil marine park of Desolation Sound has more than 60 km of shoreline, islands, bays and coves, and warm waters ideal for swimming and whale-watching. The surrounding forested hills have large populations of grizzly bears, best viewed August to October in Toba Inlet.
