When is the best time to visit Kelowna?

Kelowna is one of Canada’s only true year round destinations thanks to its milder climate. The city experiences four distinct seasons with each offering beautiful scenery and outdoor fun, ensuring plenty to do no matter when one chooses to visit.GMT –8 hours

Summers in Kelowna are hot and sunny with highs around 28°C. Expect a relaxed festival atmosphere and fresh fruit stands dotting the roadsides. Autumn is pleasant and mild with highs around 22°C and lows around 6°C. This season is filled with wine and harvest festivals and beautiful foliage across the city. Spring is also mild with highs warming from 10°C at the start of March to 20°C by May and offers wildflower-dotted hiking trails. Winter is mild compared to much of Canada, though regular snowfall and highs around zero are to be expected.

Kelowna is accessible from both Vancouver in Canada and Washington state just over the US-Canada border, offering the option of a multi-destination journey. Situated about an hour’s long flight from both locations, Kelowna is also accessible by car and visitors can expect around a 4-hour road trip. The journey from Vancouver to Kelowna boasts one of British Columbia’s most scenic drives across rain forest and wine country, making it particularly worthwhile.
