Visit Kennicott Milltown

Visit the 14-storey mill and historic buildings of Alaskan ghost town Kennicott.

Explore Kennicott, a ghost town frozen in time since the 1930s. When the Kennicott Copper Corporation abruptly abandoned the town in 1938 they left behind their mining equipment, buildings and belongings.

This tour explores the history of the town from the discovery of Copper to the building of the railroad and the mining and milling processes. Learn the history of one of the richest copper strikes in history and the stories of the people who lived and worked in this remote mountain wilderness. A highlight is exploring inside the 14-storey concentration mill and other historic buildings.
