Hotel El Capitan

One of West Texas’ most iconic hotels, El Capitan offers a charming and welcoming stay. 

A fully restored historic gem from 1930, Hotel El Capitan boasts heritage, history and a stunning façade, courtyard and lobby. Situated in the heart of Van Horn just steps from the town’s main attractions and well-placed to serve travellers stopping in West Texas, Hotel El Capitan also offers a warm welcome, with staff going out of their way to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. 

Rooms at the hotel are polished and clean, fitted with luxury linens, a clock radio, a flat panel TV, a hair dryer, an iron and a smartphone connection by the bed. Bathrooms have been updated in keeping with modern times while still retaining their 1930s character and offer basic amenities. Standard rooms come with a Juliet balcony overlooking the main courtyard while suites offer a private patio with deck chairs and a kitchenette.  

Wi-Fi is free at El Capitan as is a daily continental breakfast. The hotel also offers an excellent restaurant and bar, which serves both craft cocktails and Texas wines.
